What to do? What to do? Lots actually 1. Try some cross country skiing at Brandywine Falls just 20 mins North of Squamish. I didn’t know there was Nordic skiing there, but here is the description.
Who knew. I did however know about the other option, Callaghan Valley or the Olympic Park just 30 mins north of Squamish. There is cross country skiing, snow shoeing and some biathlon to be had there. 2. Snow shoeing. Try heading up to Garibaldi Provincial Park – Diamond Head area. There is bound to be lots of snow and good snow shoeing. 3. Squamish Winter Market at the CN Roundhouse convention centre is on December 23rd from 10am to 4pm. 4. Just go for a walk and check out the Eagles. Peak bald eagle viewing is from mid-December to mid-January. The main “Eagle Run Park” viewing facility is located on the municipal dyke, across from the Easter Seal Camp on Government Road in Brackendale. Exit Highway 99 at Mamquam Road and head north on Government Road to the bald eagle viewing area. An interpretive display explains the eagles and salmon life cycle.
Come by the office for a visit, just don’t drop by on the 24th, 25th, 26th and the 1st because we will be closed. Merry Christmas!
