Squamish Real Estate Update – September 2015

So, first of all, is Squamish Real Estate market is active?  The answer to that is fairly simple – yes it is.

Within the three largest segments of property sales in Squamish (single family, town homes and apartments) there have been more sales in the first 9 months of the year than the total sales from 2014. Along with this drastic increase in sold property there has also been a significant increase in prices.

Here is a quick snapshot of the Squamish market statistics from January 1st to September 30th.

The price of properties in Squamish has also increased year on year across all property types. Prices increases are as follows: Detached -18%, Town homes – 14% and apartments – 17%.

These increases are based on the median selling price, with some specific areas seeing even higher increases.

Despite the fact that more properties have come to the market this year, the listing inventory still remains well below historic norms and buyer demand is remaining very strong.
